itsme^® reaches full EU coverage – a milestone for digital identity

itsme^®, the leading European digital identity platform, has officially become available in all 27 countries of the European Union, marking a major milestone in its mission to make secure digital identity accessible across borders. The platform operates in 30 countries in total, including the United Kingdom, Norway, and Iceland.

The broader availability of the itsme^® app marks a significant step towards a truly pan-European digital identity solution. For instance, truck drivers travelling between member states can now use itsme^® to verify their identity to securely access to ports in Belgium. Likewise, expats can open bank accounts in itsme^®-supported markets without the need for passport scans or in-person verification.

Because itsme^® is certified at the Level of Assurance 'High' under eIDAS (the EU regulation for electronic identification and trust services) and is technically compatible with the upcoming European Digital Identity Wallet, this milestone represents a tangible step toward the future of trusted digital identity in Europe. It supports partners seeking EU-wide coverage by ensuring that users from any member state can verify their identity easily.
