Tom Van Den Bosch to be the new CEO of itsme®
White smoke can be seen at Belgian Mobile ID, the company behind the successful identity app itsme®. Tom Van Den Bosch will succeed Stephanie De Bruyne as CEO from June 1st. In addition to the continued anchoring of itsme® in Belgium, further expansion of digital applications and entering new markets are among his main objectives.
With this internal succession, Belgian Mobile ID underlines its confidence in continuity, experience and the strength of in-house talent. Tom Van Den Bosch was one of the leading figures when the identity app was founded in 2017. Today, he is part of the management team as Chief Product & Transformation Officer, and played a key role in the company's accelerated growth and profitability.
Ellen Aelvoet, President of the Board: ‘The Board is very much looking forward to working with Tom as CEO. With his years of experience at itsme®, his strong strategic vision and his leadership skills, he is ideally placed to further develop our ambitious growth plans.’
Belgium's most popular app
Van Den Bosch will take over the CEO torch from Stephanie De Bruyne, who is leaving the company after five years for a position at ING Belgium. He will head Belgium's most popular app, which has since been installed by more than 7 million compatriots and is used more than one million times a day. No app in our country does better.
Today, the app is offered in 17 European countries. The company has almost 100 employees, registered a record 475 million itsme® actions and posted a profit of €5.4 million in 2024.
‘I am extremely excited to be working with the fantastic team at itsme® to continue building on the strong foundations we have laid in recent years. In an increasingly digital world, where trust and security are crucial, the role of a digital identity is more relevant than ever, both in Belgium and abroad,’ says Tom Van Den Bosch, soon to be CEO of itsme®.
